I am having difficult time choosing which resume service provider to choose? Any suggestions? Career builder offers the service, but there are many other more out there on the web offering the same service. Does anyone know which one is the best to use?
Look for the ones that don’t charge for the service then compare the end results; they will all be similar – they don’t want you to have a poor resume and not come back to them for job listings References :
I’ve always prepared my own resumes and have been very successful at getting job interviews and landing jobs. I don’t see any reason for using a resume service. There are plenty of excellent resume examples online that you can use to guide you. Also, your school should have a placement office or career counseling office to guide you in preparing a resume for free.
The process of preparing your own resume will better prepare you for marketing yourself in an interview. At this stage in your education you should be capable of preparing a document that succintly and clearly lays out your own qualifications for a job. Also, it is a good idea to tailor a resume to each specific company/job that you are seeking. A resume service can’t do that. I assume that you are just starting out in your career so that you don’t have so much to cram into a resume that it should be a major challenge.
Take personal responsible for preparing your own resume. After all, you can’t hire a "service" to sit in job interviews for you. References : Have seen hundreds of resumes–both good and bad.
