    you’ll need math for pretty much every course and more importantly u need to know differential equations and integration especially integration

    Im in my third year of mechanical engineering…u need to have a good grasp of calculus, algebra, and differential equations. In your first year ull do a lot of calculus which u need through out ur career and youll also have linear algebra

    generally Mechanical is harder.. but for me petroleum is harder because im not that good in organic chemistry..
    i agree with u on the money advantage but petroleum engineering is a limited to petrol while mechanical is more general.. take a look at every industry.. u will find the need of mechanical engineers everywhere.. even BANKING

    Your brain needs to be naturally good at understanding mathematics and spatialiaty for you to be good in physics and engineering. You shouldn’t hate physics but appreciate those who understand it and give us the gift of technology.

    lol, all in all though, to get through the intense workload you have to be this passionate about engineering. If you don’t love what you are doing, the likely hood of someone becoming an engineer is slim to none. I know first hand.

    they design anything with moving parts, essentially.
    cars are the obvious example, but embly lines, god knows how many parts on a shuttle, robots. all of them are created, in part or in whole, by mechanical engineers.
