Algerian youth risk their lives to make it to Europe

Increasing numbers of Algerian youths are risking their lives to migrate to Europe. President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who is seeking his third term, has promised to create three million jobs if re-elected. But many youths lack faith in their septuagenarian leader. Despite two failed attempts to reach Europe, 28-year-old Sofiane hopes that one day he will make it to “the promised land”.

    Europe doesnt worth a try, nothing interesting there, some kids are just curious, they would go there then they will change their minds later about it. Aski millions they would prtefer to stay in Algeria better than wasting time and lives In Europe.

    This is tragic, Algeria fought for its independence but still isn’t truly free. Europe shouldn’t be detaining/deporting immigrants… not when they have absolutely nothing to go back to.

    I agree with you if you are trying to tell us that these Algerian are miserable in their country because of corrupted government and generals. Before I start talking about the current situation and the Algerian mafia I would talk about the west country France, UK , USA and so on which help this government to be stable and kill their people for cheap interests .
