  1. Does anybody know if you can work from home right away as a medical transcriptionist?
    I am (hopefully) getting close to being done with my course through Penn Foster, and I was wondering if anybody out there knew if I could work from home right away, or if I have to pay my dues in an office for 6 months, to a year or more?

  2. Sure you can… all you need to do is GET SOME ACCOUNTS.. and THAT MEANS.. you have to GO OUT AND SELL YOURSELF to DOCTORS who would PAY for your services.

  4. Medical Transcription is a pain. You have to be trained. You have to know the right people, you can not just walk into a Doctor’s office and ask to transcribe records due to HIPPA regulations.

    The best way to do it is to find (usually at your local Junior College) a Medical Transcription course, at the end the teacher will usually give you companies names and ways/methods to make contacts.

    Do NOT sign up for an on line "thing" as 99% of those are cons that will take you for thousands of dollars then not do anything for you.

  6. It is better to start networking in forums like indeed.com and starmt.in etc. It is better to practice on live dictations and get some exposure to start live.
