What is more important – Your God or your family?
One of my major issues with religion is that I have heard them state that God comes before everything including their families.
This is an issue, as if there are different opinions in the same family, the religious teachings may end up causes major issues within that family.
To me my family is the most important thing to me to love and protect, and I will never allow a mythology to come between that.
Your thoughts. Do you put faith in God over your family? How do you justify this?

I don’t have a god so my family I guess
But how can people put their god over their family? That’s like putting their parents above their children

my beliefs…maybe if my family was more related to me by blood then i would have more empathy with them … don’t really have empathy with groups just because i am part of them (unless biologically because then they are programmed perhaps to "think" more like me, but even that can be skewed) – a sheep mentality is to like someone just because they are part of your group (like nationality for instance) – only reason i would like certain people is if i saw good virtues in them

families are wonderful, but they must take a back seat to the One who authored wonder. don’t be stupid, your temporal family is completely outweighed by your eternal Father. you aren’t obligated to your family beyond the point of death… you are forever in subjection to God’s will, wether you believe in Him or not. you will never be greater than God, your family will never be greater than God, therefore render to caesar what is his and to God what is His.

Idk…salute to the sun, or morning prayers?
I like peace in the morning w/o all the moaning and groaning of those who have not had their first cup of coffee.
This does not mean I Choose my God over my family. It means that I put God first before anything else…well, except going pottie…I do that first.

Pulling Down Strongholds pretty much summed it up.
It is a tough thing to decifer between the two and understand the concept. But a eternal Heavenly Father or a earthly family?

Yeah that is what they say, God first, but the ones who have a family God knows that it would be hard to do that all the time. and I am sure He understand that it is. It is hard for me and I am a believer but still it is hard for me to do. It’s funny about the faith, I have very strong faith in God, I have to I have a family that gets real weak in their faith in God a lot of times, my son told me once, actually he thank me for my faith in God, he said if it wasn’t for my determination I have and the strong faith I have had through the years he just didn’t know where he would be, he said I am the pillar of faith and for me to never lose it or grow weak in it. That right there is saying a lot about my faith in God.
