i’m eng (instrumentation tec, 2nd year completed) student i want to join software company mine is electronics stream so dont have much knowledge about software so how can i prepared for the IT jobs ………i have to do any software course r what?if yes plz suggest me the courses?

courses you can do are for example :- java developer,programmer/coder, software tester .net framework, programming like C,C sharp, perl, visual basic to name a few.

Software jobs is not just limited to run or use any software or to maintain software or to update them,
it is much far beyond that.
To get software job you must be proactive or possess sharp skills including mathematics and calculation & statistics.

i thnk you know yourself much better what u are and if u cope up with that and believe it that u can do it

One thing that a lot of companies are doing is they are shipping jobs overseas because it is cheaper. They do this so that the CEO and Board of Directors can have their nice expenisive life. "Less money spent on labor the bigger boat I can buy." Amercian’s need to check the label before buying a product. If it says "MADE IN CHINA" put it right back on the shelf. They are getting what they pay for cheap labor-cheap quality. Unfortunately we Americans have to pay for thier selfish choices. Thanks corporate Amercia for looking for our future. Why am I seeing job postings where some paralegals are making more than associate attorneys?

When looking at legal job postings, I see a lot of posts for paralegals. Some of the salaries are more than associate attorneys I know are making. Some are even more than senior lawyers I know make at small law firms, and definitely more than a lot of solo attorney I know.

Why is this? Are paralegals becoming more valuable than attorneys to some companies? Do you think this profession will continue to grow and evolve? Will they become more valuable and make more money?

Also I am talking "real" paralegal positions here, not legal assistant jobs or legal secretaries.

Super experienced paralegals in some specialized fields (IP is the big one, although there are others) could be more valuable than beginning attorneys and thus earn more, especially in the small firm environment. Solo practitioners are a whole separate deal as they usually set their own rates and a large percentage of their earnings is going towards office space, etc.

Specialized paralegals will probably continue to be valuable because they cost the client less money and are usually paid less. A good, experienced paralegal can handle a fair amount of work that would otherwise be given to a first or second year associate and the billable hour charge will be less than half that for the attorney. Both the client and the firm win.

Will a company look at a job application before the deadline has passed?

I love electronics, bottom line. Im going into college and plan on majoring in animation along with game design and programming. This is just an interest of mine but what would be the job title of someone who creates new technological devices anywhere from ipods to whole new operating systems for any device. I want to make cool gadgets and fancy electronics not just for modern use but maybe for military and so on. Could anyone tell me what kind of job title this would be? and what i could possibly major in in college to make a career out of this? All advice and help is greatly appreciated!

Do I have to take a drug test the same day? After the hiring session what’s the next step in the hiring process?

Hi there, I just happened to be browsing through some of the opened questions and saw yours. Sorry it has taken so long for someone to respond. I have never been to a UP hiring session, but I have been to the BNSF and NS hiring sessions. They both were pretty much the same, so I would assume the UP’s is the same as well. First you will be in a class room setting with other candidates and the job being applied for will be explained in great detail. After that, you will have to take some sort of apptitude test. You then will have your one on one interviews. After that you will be given a drug test, and most likely it will be a hair follicle test. They test up to the last 3-6 months I believe. If you cannot pass the drug test, wait to apply until you know you can pass. If you flunk it, you will never be given another chance. After all of the interviews and tests are completed, you will have to wait for them to contact you which could take a week or 6 months. Hopefully this helps.

We’ve never claimed for anything and looking like job’s on the line so just want to know if there would be some safety net if ended up with different hours/lower salary in a new job. That’s presuming gained new employment!
