  1. What is the real deal?
I recently applied for a job at Wal-Mart because I just need a job really bad and have to make some money to pay off some bills and debts. I have connections with people who work at Wal-Mart who can help me get the job. The thing that gets kinda frustrating is the fact they lied to me about a job position being available. I applied online at their location since they no longer do the paper applications anymore. I even passed that assessment test they give you to qualify for employment. I even know one of the employees there who is helping me get a job there. None of this seems to work because even with the help and being qualified, I am still not getting anywhere. From what I was told by one of the employees is that Wal-Mart hire who they want to hire based on there own special preference. Does anyone know some better places to go to apply for a job? Places that are not full of crap like Wal- Mart who will actually hire me in no time without the lies and excuses.

  2. check out the local newspapers to see the open job ads. Walmart has really sketchy business practices anyway, in my opinon. check resturants, banks, places like that. Cracker Barrell is a great company to work for… and serving is a fun, good paying job… there’s always kmart and target too!

  3. Hi,

Well pretty much any corporate business you go to will require you to go through the same song and dance. It seems almost impossible to get jobs these days. And most companies do this to weed out people from their choices right off the top. And most likely if you do know someone, use their referal to get in. People knowing people still will get you the job over anything, no matter how FAIR a company says it is.

I’m not sure how old you are, or even what you know….
But there’s always a job in Food Service.
Work as a busser or host, work your way up to a server and make some cash. Be nice and pay close attention to detail. You will make great money if you provide customers with amazing customer service. Cuz, we all know great customer service these days, has gone down the drain.
    What’s up with that?
Oh, and try smaller mom and pops places first, if there are any that still exist in your area. They will give you a try first before large companies.

So that’s my suggestion to get a quick job.
    GOOD LUCK.

  4. Why would you want to work at walmart anyway? They don’t pay anything. Find a little quick job, get a student loan a go to a trade school so you can find a real job and get paid some real money. You can learn such things as truck driving, electrical, welding, and other things that are all in demand everywhere and pay good money. You may have to get a little dirty and sweaty, but it’ll be ok. At least then you will be able to buy some of the good things in life.
