I am a 19 Y.O full time college student. I have always been interested in working for a hospital doing administrative work or something. I only have a high school diploma. Only problem is most of the job opprotunites seem to be from 9 to 5pm(full time) and I need a part time job from 1pm to 8pm or something. Cause I go to class in the morning.

Also please don’t say grocery store or being a waitress. Those jobs r terrible!!!!

1. If you really want to find a hospital admin-type work, I would suggest trying to find a more flexible job in that hospital. Show them what you’re capable of, then after they know you and you get to know the staff, they will be more lenient with schedules.

2. Look for jobs on your college campus. They are probably the most flexible jobs you will ever have. Some jobs might even let you study during down-time…..so basically getting paid to study. Please be advised that college campus jobs are usually low paid.

3. Look into working for retail stores, like Macys and such. They are usually flexible with college students and it won’t be waiting tables.

4. Look at small businesses around your campus…maybe the ones you frequent more often…like a coffee shop, or a little book store. Those are usually family run and they might need a little help here and there.

Hope this helped! You might want to check out http://collegebrink.com after the launch (August 15th) for some more insight and information.

Cheers

As a student what are the apt places to apply for part time jobs?

Why not simply apply for part time jobs in Cardiff in May at the JobCentrePlus link in Cardiff?

If you want to pay them a personal visit, you can. . . .
Jobcentre Plus
64 Charles Street
Cardiff, CF10 2GS
Phone: 029 2042 8400

Otherwise, why not just go online to JobCentrePlus where you can start searching for jobs right away?

At the UK JobCentrePlus website, select the city where you wish to find work (Cardiff) and then etc.
http://www.job-centre-vacancies.co.uk/

If you’ve got a skill why not advertise it in shop windows or your local rag?

Have Broom Can Sweep etc

Good Luck

I work one part-time job and maintain one that essentially on call. Will listing both on my resume keep me from getting jobs? I’m interested in either getting a full-time overnight position, or another job to replace my on call job entirely. Its effing hard out here. I need a third job.

I think as long as you clarify that having those two jobs will not effect the job you are applying for, they won’t mind.

I am looking for a part-time job that will assist my resume in the future or lead to possible job opportunities when I graduate. I am in the process of maintaining a BA in Psychology and will further my education after that as well. I will be going to school in Peoria, Illinois. Any ideas or suggestions?

colleges.mywebcommunity.org - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.

I want to have two part time jobs this summer since its so hard to find a full time job. How can I balance both jobs so that its like working full time? I tried doing that at my last job but my manager just cut down my hours because I had to change my availability.

It depends on what two jobs you have. I’ve worked two jobs since I began working 5 years ago, and the only way I was able to do so was because I had a manager who wouldn’t do the schedule til the last minute and was understanding of my situation.

Places like Walmart put their schedules out usually two weeks ahead of time so unless you have a job that will work around the other, it’s tough, especially if you have two jobs that do their schedules that far ahead of time. All i did was explain to any place I interviewed at that I did have other another job but you can’t blow off one job because you’re scheduled at another..you have to find a cover for your shift or it will be like the previous job where they cut your hours or fire you

i need a part time job (weekends or any 3 days of the week). the only ones i can think of are either manual labor jobs, customer service or stores.

any other types of companies would have part time job opportunities?

A great place that many people are missing these days due to the internet employment sites, it your community paper. If they are able to post online, well great. But if not, I’d check the local paper out because employers are still posting the old fashioned-way. The paper is cheaper than those personnel companies who are running those employment web sites.
