What is the minimum amount of hours, for a school-enlisted minor in Ontario, to work in order to keep part-time status? The workplace in question is McDonald’s.

Anthing less than 37.5 is considered part-time, doesn’t matter where it it. Work one shift a week and you are working part time.

I need to know…

seasonal is temporary. You work there for usually 90 days or less (Christmas season, summer, etc). Part-time employment is working as a regular employee, but having less hours. I work part time at Target and have about 25 hours a week. Full time employees have around 40 hours and more sometimes.

How would I go about obtaining part-time, summer employment in Helsinki? The problem is I don’t speak Finnish, though I can speak French and English. Would they hire someone who’d only be able to work for 4~6 weeks or is that just ridiculous?
I’m going to Finland for the summer (appx 6 weeks) and it would be great if I could work there for a bit, just for the experience of diving into their society!

I don’t know where you’re from, but I’m assuming outside the EU from your other question?

If you don’t hold citizenship with an EU country, you need a work permit to get a job in Finland. They’re only given for highly skilled work when a suitable applicant can’t be found from people already legal to work there. It’s difficult to get a permit anyway, but due to the time and cost involved, I don’t think companies would be willing to sponsor anyone just for a few weeks.

This arrangement is allowed and encouraged by the companies. I am very busy and I play 3 sports, but I really want a job so I can start earning some money of my own. I do nothing on my weekends so I figured maybe I could get a job then. Do any jobs hire for only the weekends? I live in southeastern Michigan if it helps.

Try things like fast food. They are always hiring, and they are usually pretty accustomed to people only being able to work limited hours.

Also you may want to think about retail jobs but make sure you lay down the ground rule of only weekends. Sometimes retail can be ok, but there are definitely companies out there who will over-work you if you let them.
