I am currently living and working in China, and have recently married my Chinese girlfriend. We will soon move back to the UK. I was wondering what jobs you think she could get? She has a degree in accounting and her English is good, but not fluent. What do you think?

If she is fluent with accounting she will get a job even if she has to start as a payroll clerk first and then when she proves her ability can move up to accountant.

I am working in India. I want to apply for IT jobs which are available in USA or UK from India itself. Right now i don’t have VISA. Anyone guide me in this case.

In reality Indians are no more in need because their credentials are faked in most cases.

I’m currently sitting my AS exams and we have to apply for university in September and I want to apply for Durham to do Anthropology, so if anyone has any experience there, I’d appreciate any advice you could give me.

Also, it would help me greatly with my decision if I could know are there many jobs going for Anthropologists in the UK at the moment? If so, could details be provided?

Durham is an excellent program — there aren’t "many" jobs for anthropologists anywhere in the world right now, but the job market keeps changing and the best people usually end up with something. If anthropology is your passion, don’t give it up. If it’s not, then study something with a surer career path.

Well your 14 and not alot of people would hire you because of child labor laws so why dont you babysit or mow your neighbors lawns or make a lemonade stand its getting warm and you could take advantage of it.

Prob with the exception of lawyer/solicitor which prefer some other subjects.

All the other good stuff tends to be science and/or maths based: Engineering, Accounting, Medicine/Dentistry/Vet Science/Physiotherapy…

What I would say is that while there is nothing wrong with aspiring to a high salary, you are much better sticking with whatever you enjoy/are interested in as how far you go (and how much you earn!) in any job will depend on how good you are at it which in turn will depend on how much you enjoy and are enthusiastic about it…

As above, you need to ensure that you hold either a British passport or working visa before you can legally work in the UK. Contact your local embassy to clear that up. If you already are holding these, then my best advice is to contact the company directly asking about transferring to the UK. Their website or your current manager should give you their contact details. If you are looking for something else, then the Job Centre website mentioned above will give you all the results in the area you want to work.

During my job search, I have ran into a snag. Generally, the UK jobs that I have come across ask that you are able to "Work in the UK" as part of their qualification requirements. Is this requirement suggesting that they want me to already have a Visa/Work Permit before I apply?

Unfortunately, you need a job to get a visa, they’re quite difficult to get at the moment.

However, do you have a parent (in some case a grandparent) who is a citizen of an EU member state? If you could acquire citizenship of an EU member state through a parent then you would be eligible to work in the UK & wouldn’t have to worry about a visa. Citizens of EU member states are allowed to move freely through the EU & settle where they wish.

see you got some great answers. you can baby sit or go walk dogs. but, you do need a work permit since you are under the age 16 and you have to compeate against a bunch of older people for that same job because our economy isnt doing to well. but if you want want just make a some good safe money enough to buy a new cell phone or supplies for school try this site here copy and paste http://recessionrecover.blogspot.com/ its free and easy to do and they pay you for filling up free offers hope which I do and I get checks in the mail.
